🥣 Sweet Couscous with Milk & Raisins
🧾 Ingredients
- 2 cups medium couscous
- 2 cups milk (whole milk is best)
- 1 cup warm water
- 2–3 tbsp butter
- 3–4 tbsp sugar (adjust to taste)
- ½ cup raisins
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ tsp ground cinnamon
- Optional:
- 1 tbsp condensed milk (for extra creaminess)
- A pinch of nutmeg or orange blossom water
👩🍳 Instructions
- Prepare the couscous
- Put the couscous in a large bowl.
- Add salt and butter, rub gently with your hands.
- Pour in warm water, cover, and let it absorb (about 5 minutes).
- Fluff well to separate the grains.
- Steam or cook
- Steam the couscous for 15–20 minutes or cook it in a rice cooker/steamer until soft and fluffy.
- Prepare the milk sauce
- In a saucepan, heat the milk gently.
- Add sugar, raisins, cinnamon, and condensed milk (if using).
- Simmer on low heat for 5–7 minutes until slightly thickened.
- Combine
- Place the cooked couscous in a serving bowl.
- Pour the hot milk & raisin mixture over the couscous (as shown in the image).
