๐ Sticky Oven-Baked Chicken Drumsticks
Juicy on the inside, golden and sticky on the outside—just like the photo.
๐ Ingredients (serves 4)
- 10–12 chicken drumsticks
- 3 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp garlic powder (or 3 fresh cloves, minced)
- 1 tsp onion powder
- ½ tsp dried thyme or oregano
Sticky Glaze
- ¼ cup honey
- 3 tbsp soy sauce
- 2 tbsp ketchup
- 1 tbsp Dijon mustard (optional but great)
- 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar or lemon juice
๐ฅ Instructions
- Preheat oven to 200°C (400°F). Lightly oil a baking dish.
- Season chicken: Pat drumsticks dry. Toss with olive oil, salt, pepper, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and herbs.
- Bake (first round): Arrange in one layer. Bake uncovered for 30 minutes, turning once.
- Make the glaze: Whisk honey, soy sauce, ketchup, mustard, and vinegar.
- Glaze & finish: Brush generously over chicken. Return to oven for 15–20 minutes, flipping and brushing once more, until sticky, caramelized, and cooked through.
- Optional crisp: Broil/grill for 2–3 minutes at the end for extra color (watch closely).
- Rest & serve: Sprinkle with chopped parsley if you like.
✅ Tips
- For extra crisp skin, place drumsticks on a rack over the tray.
- Swap honey for maple syrup if preferred.
- Add chili flakes or sriracha to the glaze for heat.
